MAYOR INFECTS PARTNER WITH STD

A town mayor in Laguna is facing criminal and administrative complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman for allegedly infecting his partner with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Cavinti Mayor Milbert Oliveros is facing complaints for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act as well as immoral conduct under the Revised Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service.

The woman claimed Oliveros infected her with various STDs, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea and herpes. She attached test results which showed that that the mayor tested positive for the same type of STDs.

The complainant said she learned she was infected when she underwent tests during her pregnancy.

“He knowingly and maliciously spread his STDs...He has caused incurable and irreparable harm not just to me but to several other women... because of the emotional abuse I suffered... I miscarried and lost my baby,” the complaint read.

The ombudsman had earlier found the mayor guilty of disgraceful, immoral and dishonest conduct for recording and disseminating videos of his sexual intercourse with various women.
