Mall offers free parking to unclog traffic

Quezon City Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte

THE management of Crossroads Mall in Novaliches, Quezon City has allowed jeepneys and tricycles to load and unload passengers to minimize traffic congestion in the area.

The mall offered its parking area as terminal in support of “Bayanihan sa Lansangan,” a program of the city government that calls for collaborative effort between villages and the private sector to clear roads and sidewalks.

Quezon City Mayor Josefina “Joy” Belmonte expressed gratitude to the mall’s “generous gesture.”

The mayor called on other shopping malls to “become partners” in helping ease the traffic congestion.

“We are all successful in this campaign. I would like to thank everybody who has been and continues to be part of this,” she said

The Department of the Interior and Local Government has ordered local government units to clear roads and sidewalks of obstructions.
