Whistleblowers' convoy meets accident on the way to Senate

The whistleblowers of the multi-billion pork barrel scam had a scare on their way to the Senate, Thursday morning.

In a report by ABS-CBN News’ Jay Ruiz, on their way to the Senate, the vehicle they were riding met an accident on the corner of Rajah Sulayman and service road of Roxas Boulevard as a Nissan Urban Van hits a speeding Toyota Corolla Altis.

Authorities from the Witness Protection Program who were escorting them got out of the vehicles with their guns cocked and ready thinking it was attempt to hurt the whistleblowers.

It turned out to be a simple vehicular accident and no one was injured. The vehicles were however sustained damage due to the collision.

The group of the whistleblowers arrived in the Senate at around 9:25 a.m. 


Merlina Suñas, former employee of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles, project coordinator, and a president of one of Napoles’ NGO said they are ready to face the businesswoman before the senate.

Napoles and the group of whistleblowers were summoned before the Senate for Blue Ribbon Committee’s hearing of the pork barrel scam.
