'We are starting a franchise here,' director Peter Berg told MSN Movies
last year. Having witnessed the success of the Transformers franchise,
Universal have occupied another Hasbro toy product with the famous
boardgame, which forms a loose basis for this alien invasion movie
(loose as in the guys who repel the aliens are on boats). It's unclear
yet whether anyone says 'you sunk my battleship'. Certainly, the
presence of pop starlett Rihanna will bolster ticket sales.
Potential box office haul: $200 million
