Tom Cruise's 'One Shot' Lady Competition: Haley Atwell, Alexa Davalos, Rosamund Pike

 Three young actresses are in the running to play Tom Cruise's leading lady in his upcoming rogue hero film, "One Shot." In other words, three young actresses are competing for a chance at true, ubiquitous stardom.

Cruise will play Jack Reacher, the mountain of an ex-army cop who stars in the Lee Child's hit book series, in the big screen adaptation of "One Shot." Sent to investigate the mysteries behind five murders in a small Indiana town, Reacher's female opposite in the film is a lawyer and the daughter of the district attorney. 

 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, up-and-comers Haley Atwell, Alexa Davalos and Rosamund Pike are auditioning for the role, as the studio searches for an under-the-radar potential star to play alongside Cruise.

Kids Who Use Facebook Do Worse in School

That Facebook is hugely distracting is hardly stop-the-presses kind of news, but parents might be dismayed to learn that the social-media site can hobble learning and make kids less healthy and more depressed.

Research has found that students in middle school, high school and college who checked Facebook at least once during a 15-minute study period got lower grades. Other studies have discovered that teens who use Facebook tend to have more narcissistic tendencies, while young adults who are active on the site display other psychological disorders. And daily use of media and technology — what teen doesn't use tech each day? — makes kids more prone to anxiety and depression.

The bad news was delivered over the weekend at the 119th annual convention of the American Psychological Association by Larry Rosen, a professor of psychology at California State University, Dominguez Hills, who researches the psychology of technology.

Big Boi Arrested On Drug Charges In Miami: OutKast Rapper Had Ecstasy, Viagra

Grammy-winning OutKast rapper Big Boi has been arrested in Miami on charges of illegally possessing drugs including ecstasy and Viagra pills.

The rapper, whose real name is Antwan Patton, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday. According to the Miami-Dade County Corrections website, the 36-year-old Patton was also carrying MDMA, which is the main ingredient in Ecstasy.

The rapper was booked around 1:30 p.m. on $16,000 bond. Phone and email messages were left for Big Boi's publicists.

Big Boi is best known as half of the groundbreaking rap duo OutKast, which includes Andre 3000. The Atlanta-based group won six Grammys and churned out six platinum-plus albums, including "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below," which sold over 10 million copies.

“After a year-long investigation by PETA Asia-Pacific and the National Bureau of Investigations, police have now charged a Philippine couple with cruelty to animals and other crimes related to producing a series of pornographic videos in which young girls torture and kill animals.

The “crush” videos that the Ridons are believed to have produced show scantily clad 12-year-old girls as they stomp on live animals, a rabbit as he or she is skinned alive, other rabbits as they scream while their ears are cut off and they are set on fire, a dog as he or she is burned with a clothes iron, and a monkey who was repeatedly hit in the eye with the sharp end of a stiletto heel. There is more, including puppies crushed until they vomited their own internal organs. A bill currently in the Philippine Senate would criminalize the sale of such “crush videos,” already illegal in the U.S. and other countries.

Faced with the charges, suspects Dorma and Vic Ridon have fled. Warrants have been issued for them.”

Using Macromedia Flash I made a simple and basic animation using stick figures. I added the audio parts using Windows Movie Maker. You can also import audio and video on macromedia flash. But I prefer movie maker when adding an audio on my flash animation because I'm more comfortable with it.
